Why You Can’t Hear Your Intuition (+ how to fix it)

intuition, overthinking, nervous system, anxiety, self-trust

SEER SESSIONS #265

This episode explores why you can’t hear your intuition, a common experience for people!

Most people assume intuition is something mystical or hard to access. In reality, it’s already happening inside your body.

In this episode, I'm breaking down what intuition actually is and why it often feels unavailable in everyday life.

In this episode:

  • how intuition works as a built-in perception system in your body

  • how a dysregulated nervous system drowns out intuitive signals

  • how overthinking and stress distort internal clarity

  • how to recognize the difference between anxiety and true intuitive knowing

  • why hypnosis is one of the most effective ways to access clarity

  • a simple nervous system reset to help you feel grounded and clear

This episode is especially helpful for listeners who feel mentally crowded, drained by relationships, or disconnected from their internal sense of direction.

You’ll also hear a clip from a deeper Patreon session exploring intuition, nervous system regulation, and real-life application of this work.

Seer Sessions offers guided hypnosis and clarity practices for overthinking, anxiety without a clear cause, emotional exhaustion, and intuitive decision-making.

Hey everyone, it's Jina. You're listening to Seer Sessions. Jina Seer (00:00.184)

Hey everyone, it's Gina. You're listening to Seer Sessions. Each week, I guide hypnotic journeys to help you quiet mental noise, rebuild your self-trust, and access that clear knowing inside of you. Your inner guidance, your inner knowing, your intuition. This month on the podcast, we've been talking about something that changes everything when it comes to accessing your intuition, accessing your inner knowing, and that thing is your nervous system.

But before we go any further, what is intuition? Sometimes we talk about intuition like it's mystical or mysterious or something that only certain people can access or only certain people can access at certain times. But intuition is actually much simpler than that. And it's actually a part of your body, your earth suit. So it's your birthright. Your body is constantly perceiving information and your nervous system is reading like tone, facial expression, pattern, environment.

Memories and all of that is happening faster than your conscious thought or your conscious awareness Most of the time the thinking mind is actually one of the last ones to know so intuition is really just Perception that arrives before formed thought or language and sometimes it's on a subconscious level Sometimes it's just imperceptible to us for many reasons For example, my grandma used to say I can tell someone paid too much

for their cows based on how much their trailer was bouncing. And now that woman could price a cow, but that's not really what was going on, right? Like she was attributing this knowing by the way a trailer bounces. So you see what I'm saying? Or like me, sometimes I'll see someone in their teeth, the way their teeth are, just tells me that they're so neurotic and it has never not been proven.

And it's so funny because I know it's not their teeth, obviously. I'm seeing more than that. I'm perceiving more than that. But on a conscious level, I'm tying it to their teeth. So this might show up as a gut feeling. It might show up as just like the right feeling. You know it in your heart. It might feel like a creative current that you're following. It might feel like a really clear, subtle, grounded no. It might just feel like stagnancy.

Jina Seer (02:14.496)

It might feel like don't move forward. It might be a subtle nudge in a subtle direction. All of these ways that we perceive and the way it shows up in our body and then in our mind, it's totally unique to you. You might be able to hear someone else's story and like learn a little bit more about your skills in that area, but at the end of the day, you are unique.

So that's why it's good to like get quiet, calm that nervous system down and get in tune with like what does your intuition feel like? This is why the nervous system matters of course, because that is how we can get quiet, so quiet on the inside. And that's one of the things that trance helps us do is to really downshift, move into a deeply relaxed state. So you have that calm stillness within you and you can observe even more with your conscious mind. So when your nervous system is like,

all revved up, always in flight or fight, because maybe that's the way you perceive the world, maybe that's how you learn to thrive in the world. When the system is in a stressful mode, it's like scanning for stress, it's narrowed focus usually, because there's sometimes there's fear involved in that. So when our nervous system is like all jacked up, it drowns out those quieter signals, and it really...

To me, it's helpful if you notice it, if you think of it like a pond, if intuition is like a drop of water, you're not gonna feel that or really be able to perceive that in a thrashing, crashing pond. If you can get that pond or your mind quiet, your body quiet, then just like one drop, you're gonna feel it throughout the whole pond. So that inner calmness kind of lets you feel just a deep sense of peace and relief, but it also attunes you to that inner compass, your inner knowing.

So when it comes to intuition, that's why it's not something that we can force because a lot of times when we're forcing, when we're pushing, it's coming from these feelings of stress, fear, all kinds of things that actually rev up our nervous system, rev up our internal landscape. So we can't get those messages. And that's another reason why I love hypnosis, right? Cause you can be in a really, really panic, anxious state.

Jina Seer (04:21.186)

But if you take the time to go through and go into that trance state, your nervous system is calming and quieting. Your intuition, your inner knowing, it's a signal that's always being broadcast. It's something that you're always perceiving, you always have access to. It's just when we can calm our inner noise, our nervous system, we can actually pick up that information. And you can think of it as like an increase.

in static in the message. So a lot of times clients will come in and they'll be feeling like blocked from their creativity, blocked from their passion, blocked from their sexual life, blocked from joy. They're always shown to get quiet and that might be time in nature, that might be meditation. But it's exactly why hypnosis is such a powerful tool is because we can, no matter what is going on in your life, no matter how disconnected you've been feeling.

from your internal knowing or who you authentically are, we can always quiet yourself down deep enough and point that intention and our focus in a direction that helps you get the information that you're searching for. Information that'll help you feel more peace and help you make more decisions that are like in aligned with what you truly want in your life. So hypnosis moves your body into that relaxed state where everything becomes quiet.

And you can perceive and pick up even more of these messages and experiences. And you can kind of get to know the brand of your messaging even more. So you can pick up that intuition, those little hits, those little downloads and insights just in your everyday life when you're outside of hypnosis and even someday in a dysregulated state. So hypnosis is where you move back into that regulated state, but your awareness becomes even more focused.

And that's the exact state where your perception sharpens and you feel like I'm connected. I know where I'm going. I know what is the truth for me. I know my purpose of my life. I know my direction. That's where those solid grounded feelings come from is being able to tap into that part of yourself. And that's why the nervous system is such a great way to look at it as a portal to calm yourself down. So you can actually

Jina Seer (06:37.686)

receive and understand those messages. So all month long we've been exploring this from a few different angles and if you haven't started yet the best place to start with this is episode 261. So in that episode I explain how the nervous system affects intuition even more deeply and how hypnosis can help move the body into that calm clear state.

where clarity, where intuition is available. And then in episode 262, that's a hypnotic journey that you can listen to every single night for 30 nights. And that's designed for you to listen to night after night and see these slow shifts take hold in your life every single day for 30 days. A lot of times what people notice when they do that is like less reactivity.

fewer negative mental spirals, clearer decision making, and just really a calmer baseline in their body and in their mind. And then in episode 263, we have a hypnotic journey to another lifetime. And the purpose of that journey is to experience a version of yourself whose nervous system feels steady and internally safe, solid, grounded.

Because the nervous system learns through experience, when your body experiences that steadiness, even if it's symbolic in hypnosis, it's still happening in your body. It's still changing your nervous system. And it all begins in that hypnotic trance state. And then in episode 264, we move into a higher self journey. And that episode is really designed for when you want clarity around a decision.

or when something seems uncertain and you want to reconnect with your inner knowing before you make a decision, before you take action, before you go to that conversation. So those are the hypnotic journeys on the podcast this month. If you want to go deeper into this work, that's where Patreon comes in. So on Patreon, I always share deeper conversations within the same topic. I share more of my own life experiences.

Jina Seer (08:38.582)

And Patreon is really where I share kind of like the unpolished version of where I'm at right now. For example, this month on Patreon, I shared a personal higher self session of mine where I went in with very specific questions about intuition. And I wanted to know what my most divine portion of me, the most wise version of my soul. I wanted to know what that part of me had to say about intuition.

One of the things that came through in that session was this idea that when we talk about intuition, it's almost like looking at the whole human body and saying like, it sees things. That's the whole point. And my higher self was reminding me that I might know certain things about my intuition, but to think of it as something that just kind of sees in the unseen realms around us, sees in all kinds of ways.

experiences, knows things. It's just a small sliver of what it actually does. In that session, I just continually got the same messages that I've been getting for a while, which is that our body is constantly processing information, integrating signals, creating meaning faster than the thinking mind, the conscious mind actually can keep up. Think of intuition less like this magical superpower and more like this advanced

perception system within your own earth suit. And then the calmer your nervous system in this earth suit, the easier it is to access that. If this topic resonates with you and you want to explore it more deeply, join me on Patreon. You'll find the link.

in the show notes. Another bonus of Patreon is the chance to meet up for some group hypnosis. So next month in April, we're going to be meeting and doing a group hypnotic journey together. Because hypnosis is a powerful tool for calming the nervous system and strengthening intuition, a lot of people assume it has to be done one on one or you alone. But actually, another powerful way to experience hypnosis is in a group setting. And it has to do with the energetics in the intention of the group. A group is still powerful.

Jina Seer (10:38.784)

online. When we can be in that hypnotic state together, something shifts. If someone is regulated calm nervous system and we are around them, it's easier for us to regulate, have a calm nervous system. And that's why in a group setting it feels like we go deeper and go farther.

And that's one of the reasons is because of that group co-regulation. Another thing that's powerful too in that group setting is that when we know we're not alone going through something or experiencing something, it can allow us to relax on an even deeper level. And just like everything else I've been talking about, when you're relaxed, you're gonna experience more and understand more of the unseen realms within you and around you. It's just part of your earth suit.

So when we do hypnosis in a group, whether it's online or in person, people often notice that the experience feels like personal to them, of course, but also like this shared group experience too. We come out of it and most of the time in a group, someone will have a question after we come out of the journey or they'll wanna ask a question about their experience or share something that they experienced.

And while that's not a requirement, it always leads to really great information. And people continually tell me they learn from other people's experience. And that adds a layer of validity in our own experience. And then just understanding more and more of how these things can unfold for us. Okay, until you join me on Patreon, these journeys here on the podcast are a great way to start getting even more comfortable in that state. Because again, this

state, hypnotic trance, a deeply calmed regulated nervous system, they are your birthright. It is a design feature on your earth suit. So all you have to do is get yourself in the right state, in the right environment to experience it. Okay, we have a group hypnotic journey again coming in April in just a couple weeks. So join us, okay?

Jina Seer (12:38.53)

Will you join me there? I would love to have you there. This episode is going to end with a clip from the March 1st Patreon episode. I'm share a breathing exercise at the end of that episode that I use. It's super simple just to change your nervous system. We can go from an elevated nervous system state to a totally calm one in 30 seconds. So what follows here is a clip from that episode. Go deeper with me on Patreon. Links are in the show notes. Hey everyone, this month...

on Patreon, our two episodes, you can think of it as two parts going a little bit deeper into the theme that is on Seer Sessions, the podcast, which is the nervous system. And how does that tie to intuition and our ability to be clear, to tune in, to know when we're making decisions and actions that are aligned with the life that our soul came here to create?

inner knowing is real. But your nervous system decides whether you can hear it or our nervous system can kind of distort the message a little bit. That is my current experience. Just being really, really clear about how really riled up my nervous system is a lot of the time and how that can make me feel so disconnected from myself.

and make me feel like, I'm making all the wrong decisions. So I ask for deeper guidance on that. And I did that in session with Soulful Stephanie in December of 2025. So just a handful of months ago. In that, there's this moment where I'm asking about intuition. The way I see intuition, the way I refer to whatever intuition is,

She's like, it's such a crude word for something so much bigger. It's like if someone were to say, what's your human body for? And you were like, to see stuff. It's like, that's true, right? But it's so much more than that, so much more than that. And when I experience wisdom like that, metaphors like that, when I'm in the trance state.

Jina Seer (15:01.366)

It's just so much easier for me to take it in on a level that's so deep that it's cellular. It's like in the fabric of how I see the world and how I make my decisions. Over the course of like the time that I went into hypnosis as a client, which was 2013, I started to feel just a lot more intuitive as I would do more hypnosis.

And then when I started leading other people on these hypnotic journeys, I just started to see how much more access to my inner knowing, to my intuition, how much more clarity I had when I was experiencing the energy of the collective versus the energy of me. And I know that has to do with being in that trance state. And it also has to do with the element of healing because that's why I came to hypnosis was to

You know, I was having all kinds of really out of control emotional reactions to things in life. And some of them I needed to change and I needed the courage to change. And some of them I needed to just kind of alter my perception. And hypnosis has always been an avenue for me to get a different perspective on my life so I can do those things. And I really see this as hypnosis lending me this expansion of awareness.

So I can just be aware of more things that are at play, more influences around me and within me, so I can just make better choices. So I can also within all of that become more aware of who I am, so I can make better choices going forward. Well, you know, eventually I started a podcast as you all know that, and that was in 2019. Now it's 2026.

And I'm still very much on a journey. And sometimes I kind of, I mean, really, I feel like slow. And I think it's my inner critic, but it also seems like the world around me where it's like, people like me, feel like evolved a little bit. Now they're kind of their own mini guru with tens of thousands of followers. And I'm just kind of like over here.

Jina Seer (17:18.968)

talking about more issues that I have. And as I have covered in so many sessions and specifically sessions in the last year with Soulful Stephanie, I'm thankful for that too, because it pushes me to continue to explore. I think it's a red flag when someone is leading any sort of community or speaking from any sort of level of authority when they're not even really doing that work anymore. And...

I gotta stay true to that. Like I just can't sell out and be like this guru teacher to get, you know, the masses who are hypnotized scrolling on Instagram to like me more, you know, or find me more entertaining. And in all of that, it's like I'm in this constant evolution, right? And one of the things that has become so clear to me in the last year is how much my physical body, how much my nervous system plays into this.

what I would have called before spiritual realm, but it's not spiritual. It's just like what I'm aware of my consciousness and I put a spiritual spin on it because that's how it makes sense to me. It kind of is soothing to look at it from that way. But in reality, I'm just starting to see wow, the more agitated I am, the more inflamed or whatever that I am, the more agitated my nervous system is, the more the self

critic comes out, the louder that self-critic is, the harder it is to catch the self-critic before I start believing these things or spending time in those thoughts. And all of that has so much more to do with the Earth suit than I ever thought before. And as I was reflecting on the content for this month and just bringing in this idea of the nervous system in this realm of awareness and intuition,

It really makes sense to me because I for probably like two years ago started to have so many clients where their spirit guides, their higher self, what they were, the wisdom they were getting from their hypnosis sessions with me was bring your body into your spiritual practice. And for everyone that kind of meant something different.

Jina Seer (19:38.156)

Because I'm such an exerciser, like I love exercise. It makes me feel really good. I look forward to it. It's like a time when I can think about whatever I want and I feel really good in my body. But for a lot of these clients, I was surprised because I was making assumptions as someone who's like, your body, you should exercise more. And that was definitely something like move your body more. Like a lot of people got that move your body, especially because

for a while, lot of people, seemed like for years, people were coming to me who just felt stuck in their life. And a lot of times the advice from their higher self or spirit guides was like, move your body. But what happened with this message of bring your body into your spiritual practice, I, because I am who I am when I lead these sessions, would ask a lot of questions like, how, what does that mean? What does that mean for this person? they should go outside.

How often is this an hour a day? Is this an hour a month? Is this three minutes a day? What should they do when they go out there? You know, is standing in their backyard enough? Do they need to get in their car and drive to a trailhead? So I was always asking a ton of questions, but a lot of times what people would get was just sit quietly and tune into your body, which is oddly frightening and most of us would resist that, but.

in that case, because I know that it would be like, what does that mean for this person? And how can they like feel better in that? But it really was all these different things like journal about your body, talk to your body, meditate with your body. And then of course, it was like move your body, but it was also like be in your body, put your body in nature, like put your hand on a tree.

put your ass in the grass, know? Put your feet on the cement or the stone or the dirt or the grass or whatever. It was like, be in your body outside. And because I have practices like that, and I was having clients who were getting that information, I would take that information effortlessly. I'm having a deep conversation with someone is what this feels like.

Jina Seer (21:52.088)

And so I would effortlessly take this learning from this client session and apply it to my own life. And I started to get even more magic, even more nourishment, even more energy out of my time in nature, out of my time when I am exercising, whether I'm outside or in the gym. And it really was such this important piece. And for so long to me,

That meant, when Gina is moving her body, I'm also going to intentionally try to open up, get into this trance space, focus on my higher self, see if I can get answers to questions or, you know, insights about dilemmas in my life. And what I really discovered was, yes, that's true. And it's about the actual nervous system. And it's about how that nervous system

responds to trauma, how that nervous system responds to our unique perception of the world around us and within us and how much that's influenced by what's in the shadows, the things that we suppressed so we could be accepted by our parents, accepted by our siblings, accepted by our community, accepted by our neighbors, accepted by our classmates in school, accepted by our teammates on sports. We're always

under the subconscious drive for acceptance. And so in that we stuff a lot of things sometimes, depending on who you're around and who you are. We kind of stuff away these parts of who we are to fit in, to create more peace, more ease, less friction with the little communities that we're in and that we kind of move in and out of as we move through our day. And that's totally natural.

And when we don't pull those things from the depth, they influence us. And sometimes they're so deep that they always will influence us. We'll never get rid of them. But they can influence us less if we know they're there and we know what to look out for. They can influence us less if we know how to prevent them because we've been studying them, because we know them. They can influence us.

Jina Seer (24:13.28)

in a positive way, if we can kind of understand the energetic signature underneath it. And it's like, hmm, how could I use this to my benefit in this life? How could I take this perception and use it to my advantage instead? Because a lot of these things, our beliefs, our perceptions, were really molded when we were really, you our consciousness was really moldable and wide open as a child.

And most of us never learn coping mechanisms as an adult until we realize I'm in pain because the way I'm coping with the world is so f'd up or needs to be improved or I need to just stop having these reactions or I need to make better decisions for myself so I'm not so triggered. Because when we're triggered, that is our nervous system freaking out. And that

triggers the fear response in our body, which narrows our perception. It physically narrows our vision, what we can see with our physical eyes, but also our perception of the world around us. And it all kind of compounds, like we have a fearful view, so we see things that affirm that and make us even more fearful. And we really need to be able to calm our nervous system because

Even though, yes, there are life-threatening things in this world, most of the time, the thing that's bugging me out is not gonna kill me. Most of the things that cause my blood pressure to go up and cause my garment to be like, you had a stressful day yesterday, has to do with my internal landscape. The voices in my head, the way I see the world, the things I expect, the things I focus on in my past.

All of those things can compound and make me even more anxious feeling, even more fearful. And that is where I'm going to cut off this episode. If you want to hear more about my practices around my nervous system and the simple breathing technique I use, join me over on Patreon. March was regulation and strength of the nervous system. The theme for April is really all about awakening your creativity.

Jina Seer (26:35.362)

So if you're someone who used to be creative and you're not anymore, or you feel like you've never been creative, or maybe your creativity pulses in and out, inconveniently, this is the month for you. We're gonna tap into that creative flow. I'm gonna talk all about what it is, how I see it, how clients have shifted and changed by working on their creative flow while in that hypnotic trance state. And then of course I'll have the hypnotic journeys for you to continue to tap into.

and understand what it is for you to live in that creative flow. All right, everybody, that is our episode for today. I'll see you next week.
